Jade Tree Beaded Necklace and Earring Set
This necklace is made of a intricately detailed black tree on a green background strung on 24 inches of alternating olive jade and black delicata beads. It has a vintage brass clasp. The earrings are two types of jade. One is rectangular cut and the other is a bicone cut and they are topped with a black delicata bead.
Most people associate the symbolism and meaning of jade with Chinese culture. According to the ancient Chinese, jade represented many of their most valued attributes: courage, wisdom, mercy, justice, emotional balance, love, and fidelity. It can also signify beauty, generosity, and purity. Jade also symbolizes love, health, wealth, and long life.
Another meaning of jade signifies harmony and the concentrated essence of love.
The word jade comes from the Spanish piedra de hijada which means "the stone of the loin." When Spanish conquerors came to South America, they saw jade charms being worn around the waist on loincloths.

Crescent Moon with Red Jasper and Heishi Beads Necklace and Earring Set
The clay colored crescent moon is strung along with multi-colored fair trade, clay heishi beads, a few pearls in deep wine and brass colors, and brown delicatas. Spaced throughout the necklace are Red Jasper faceted stones. It measures 24 inches and has vintage brass clasp. I have created a pair of earrings that measure 1.5 inches made of Red Jasper and Heishi beads only.
For those of you who are interested in the metaphysical significance of stones that I use, Jasper is one of the oldest known gemstones. It is mentioned in the Bible several times. Jasper is a strong secure gemstone. It is a stability gemstone. It is a powerful protection against things that are not good for you and it eases emotional stresses, making it a wonderful gemstone to have in your home.
Jasper gives one the courage to speak out and have personal independence. It also protects from fears in the night. Red jasper is thought to help balance the energy in the body. All jaspers help balance the emotional energy in the body.

The literal meaning of heishi is "shell" and specifically refers to pieces of shell which have been drilled and ground into beads and then strung into necklaces. More and more frequently, however, heishi (pronounced hee-shee) has come to refer to hand-made tiny beads made of any natural material.

Ovarian Cancer Awareness Turquoise and Pearl Bracelet
Inspired by the many women who have forged through, in memory of those who have fallen to, or for people whose lives have been impacted in some way, by Ovarian Cancer. I have wanted to do fund-raising jewelry for some time now and my first two pieces will be Breast Cancer awareness and Ovarian Cancer awareness. As in each piece, I allow my focal piece to speak to me and divinely, the teal ribbon that is the symbol for Ovarian Cancer Awareness, called for turquoise. Spirtually, turquoise has been considered as grounding and used for protection. Pearls are thought to be the symbol of feminine wisdom and they are a reminder to walk with dignity. (have you ever seen a woman in pearls act in any other manner?) Pearls are also the a reminder that what once begins as a rough grain of sand, over time develops into something of great beauty, pure and innocent. I wanted to juxtapose the roughness of the turquoise with the soft roundness of the cultured pearls as anyone who has been touched by Cancer knows that there are soft days and rough days. Breast Cancer Awareness Lampwork, Pink Quartz and Crystal Bracelet
Inspired by the many women who have forged through, in memory of those who have fallen to, or for people whose lives have been impacted in some way, by Breast Cancer. I have wanted to do fund-raising jewelry for some time now with my jewelry and my first two pieces will be BC awareness and Ovarian Cancer awareness. This piece is so cheerful and the stones have intentions behind them. The floral lampwork beads are to signify life, and growth and to remind us that there is hope and renewal.. The pink quartz round beads are the universal stone of warmth and love, healing emotional wounds. Crystal is the stone of clarifying, postive thoughts, and cleansing.
